Amazing Gabe!

As Gabe nears the two year mark he is astounding us with his new abilities.  Last Thursday he discovered how to climb out of his crib, how to open the front door and run out, and how to open the knife drawer.  All in one day.  He is also becoming more conversational and able to comprehend what we are saying so much more.  He can follow simple directions (when he wants to!).  He is simply amazing.  He recognizes Santa and has seen him three times this Christmas season.  He says Ho Ho Ho! when he sees Santa and even sat on his lap!  When he says "Christmas" it sounds exactly like "Thomas" (his favorite!) so we have to see what he is looking at to determine what he is talking about.  He loves the Christmas tree but will not leave it alone! There are ornaments all over the house.  All over.  He also loves to sing along with Christmas carols and will bring the jingle bell ornaments off the tree over to me so we can sing Jingle Bells together.  He is super cute and a great little singer!

We have gone on the Santa trolley, gone to the Kennywood Christmas lights, and he had a great time at Jacquelyn's party.  He parties hard just like his dad!  He really was the life of the party and socialized with everyone, played with every toy in the house, and even ate some party food.

Since taking off the side rail off of the crib (after Thursdays gymnastic feat) he is slowly getting better at sleeping in the newly converted toddler bed.  Naptime is another story.  Instead of napping he prefers to take every toy out to play with.  When we tell him to get into bed he brings every toy to bed with him.  Every toy.  He is a very crafty boy.
